Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Movie Review
Tom Cruise does not really fit the big, mean hero painted in Lee Child’s Reacher novels, but we know that. But what Never Go Back lacks is a good plot and a towering, mean villain that can make you root for the Hero. A weak supporting cast dooms the movie and leaves everything up to Tom Cruise to shoulder this one to the end.
The Film Stage reports the Never Go Back lacks the ability to hook its viewers who will be invested in the story as Jack Reacher is in what is happening on screen. Critics believe the movie has a very simple story and is a plain action movie with the protagonist trying to save a friend and fight a bunch of bad guys.
But Tom Cruise fans will not have much wanting as Reacher moves more to Tom Cruise’s tunes than Lee Child’s character in the movie. The Guardian confirms that although the movie is run-of-the-mill action movie, there is enough juice in it to make you grab a bucket of pop-corn and watch the leading pair beat the crap out of the baddies.
