tum bin 2 music review

Tum Bin 2 is the sequel to Tum Bin, the 2001 sleeper hit that had moviegoers all over hooked to the romantic drama. The first part of the movie was mostly shot in Canada, and this one is extensively shot in Scotland. So it should be a treat to watch, just as the first one. Will the story be as good as the first one, remains to bee seen. Although it will be difficult to create another haunting like Koi Fariyad, we are hoping that Tum Bin 2 music is a good as the first one. Read on our Tum Bin 2 music review and you decide.

Tum Bin 2 Music Review

It is great to listen to Jagjit Singh once again in the new movie and he seems irreplaceable ever more. The new Koi Fariyad song mixed with vocals from Rekha Bharadwaj changes the mood of the song slightly, but you will have to agree that her silky, sultry voice suits the new song quite well.

Teri Baarishe or Ishq Mubarak seems a bit out of tune in the intro and is one of the rare Arijit songs that don’t seem inviting. The traditional and common treatment of the song also does not do much to hook you on to the song.

The party number Jaeger Bomb too doesn’t do that well as a party number. And as the YouTube comment says it does have a striking familiarity with Aron Chupa’s I am an Albatraoz. Original or not the song is neither here nor there.

New Bollywood Movie Reviews

Sung and written by Arko, Dil Nawaziyan sees a lot of influence of the singer on the composition and falls back to Indian classical feel or skews toward a fusion ghazal, if you will. I am not a fan of mixed lyrics, but the movie setting dictates the dual language song.  Although nothing wrong, the song is not addictive.

Masta gets a Honky Tonk treatment that reminds you of Cotton Eye Joe. The four-minute song changes pace multiple times and feels like different tunes have been fused together, which turns out to be total disaster. You won’t wait for this song to finish.

Arijit’s Dekh Lena is better than Ishq Mubarak, but still does not command you attention and you are convinced that the album is not going to give you any tune that has the potential to stay alive for the next decade or beyond.

MovieRecipe Verdict: Koi Fariyad composition remains the star song as others fail to make an impression.

Movie Recipe Picks:  Teri Fariyad
