The Legend
Asha Bhosle, glittering in a lemon green sari, gajra in place and pearl strings around her neck got teary saying, “I used to take care of my three little children and leave for the city early morning everyday in search of a job. There were people who used to taunt me; there were few who loved me too. It is through these ups and lows that I have progressed in my journey towards success.” She was also nostalgic as she spoke about when she celebrated her birthday as a child, her elder sister Lataji, her life being a successful roller coaster and left everyone present in the audience with bitter sweet memories about her life.
She also commented, “I have always celebrated my birthday with my family and close friends. And I am deeply honored that Zee Classic has decided to showcase this special concert to celebrate my birthday. Watching the young singers of today perform on my songs in the presence of all my well-wishers in the industry was indeed a very humbling experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the highlight was the song where all the actresses I sang for came on stage after so many years.”
