There have been many movies that have chronicles the lives of past US presidents. But most of these have been about their actions in Office or some which have focused on their political careers. Southside With You is perhaps the first movie on a US President that delves into the romantic life of a President and The First Lady.

Southside With You Story
The movie narrates the circumstances around Barack Obama’s first date with Michelle Robinson in Chicago. A young associate working at the law firm of Sidney Austin. The movie is set in Chicago of the late 80s. Their first date was at a local art center which was screening Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing. The movie begins with Barack trying to woo Michelle into a date, which she is reluctant to go as she thinks it is not right for colleagues to date. An invitation to visit the art center community meeting is a good enough excuse to lure her into some personal time, which then develops into some interesting conversation.
