Shorgul is a political drama that highlights how a few people will always use religion to dominate and control the masses. The movie seems to take the recent years as the backdrop with inter-religion love story at the core. The movie is rightly set in Uttar Pradesh that has been at the center of many political and religious crises since 2011.
The movie trailer doesn’t reveal much and the story appears to be quite common. With a strong cast of Ashutosh Rana and Jimmy Shergill, the movie promises to be a tense, rhetoric-filled couple of hours. What message it ultimately delivers remains to be seen.
Shorgul Music Review
With Lalit Padit as the composer, there are strong impressions of the 90s style melodious tracks. There is little to find fault with the tracks in this album and one you can definitely invest in.

Arijit sings Tere Bina with a lot of passion and reminds you of the Jatin-Lalit brand of the music. You can easily go back to the track and would want it on your 2016 playlist. Except it ends with a vocal interlude that could have been avoided.
The album comes as a fresh breeze at a time when you can fit most other new music composers in the same bucket. Melody is the key word here in the romantic numbers along with the use of piano sounds over guitar, along with some familiar beats.
Masta Hawa, a party number is groovy with lazy beats that will give club goers some good rhythm to move. Baroodi Hawa gels well with the movie genre and subject, but is not something that you will listen to out of the movie context. The composition of this track is very different from other tracks in the album. This one leans toward Rock and can be grouped with tracks like Bandeh from Black Friday.
