Ventilator Marathi Movie Story
Gaji Kaka is breathing his last in the hospital after suffering from a stroke. As the news of his illness spreads, the entire extended family gathers to show their support, at the hospital. But as the family gathers and meets after a long time, a lot more happens in the hospital’s waiting room.
The film brings out the typical conversations, old hangups, and portrays characters that you will find in a typical Marathi family. Although grief brings them together, the movie shows how daily life continues and brothers, neices and nephews of Gaju Kaka are worried about various things like the impending Ganesh festival.
With one hilarious situation after another, the movie is both entertaining as well as a mirror of a Maharashtrian household. The movie also takes a look at commercialization of medical aid and everything else through the last rites.

The movie begins with the grand preparation for the Ganesh festival on the streets and in the Kamerkar family. As the news of Gaju kaka’s illness spreads, the fate of a Ganesh festival hangs in balance and all the related commercial interests take precedence over the ailing man.
This remains central to the movie theme. The other part central to the story is RK or Raja, who is a successful director. The circumstances and the location does not deter relatives and their friends from scoring a few good points with this successful personality, and everyone is peddling one thing or other to the man whose only interest is in the patient.
With witty dialogues like “Hospital madhe sleeveless!” which seems more of Punekar than a Mumbaikar’s concern, the movie will make you laugh in most of the first part as you get to know the dysfunctional family.
The movie moves at a brisk pace and uncovers each important part of life as it unfolds in the last hours of a close relative. The movie is a situational comedy on a universal topic and handles the serious matter with great skill. The movie deals with various subjects like Life Support, and brings a troubled Father-Sn relationship in focus.
