Released in summer of 2016, Ishqbaaz has captured the attention of Indian TV viewers like not other. The serial follows th elives of Oberoi family. But all is not well in this family. One Bahu has a alcohol addiction and there is a constant rift between father and one of the sons. The characters of this serial have become so popular that we have a new show ‘Dil Bole Oberoi’ that focuses on one of the sons. This is easily one of the best romantic Hindi serials in 2016.
Kumkum Bhagya
Kumkum Bhagya is losely based on Jane Ausstin’s Sense & Sensibility. It shows the trials and efforts of Sarla to get her daughters married off. The women-centric story follows the matriarch Sarla and the lives of her two daughters.
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein
Produced by Balaji Telefilms, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein was first aired in December 2013. The story is based on Manju Kapoor’s novels Custody and is set in Dlehi. The show tells the story of Ramankumar Bhalla, his ex-wife Shagun, adn his current wife Ishita and revolves around Raman’s daughter Ruhi.
Saath Nibhana Saathiya
This Star Plus show started airing in 2010 and has won over many viewers in India. Set in Rajkot, Saath Nibhana Saathiya follows a fictitious Modi family. It is the fourth longest running TV show on Indian Television and talks about a Gujrati family morlas and values.
Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsas Ki
The story of Shakti serial revolves around two sisters Soumya and Surbhi. Saoumya is portrayed as the victim and is not liked much by her family. her sister Surbhi is the apple of her parents eyes. What is the real reason for their strong dislike of Soumya. As the serial unfolded it was revealed that Saoumya is a transgender. The serial is about the social stigma and how we as a society behave and view transgenders among us.
Naagin 2
Aired on Colors TV network, Naagin is now in its second season. The serial is a supernatural drama produced by balaji Telefilms. The first season saw Shivanya – a shape shifter – enter her enemies’ house to avenge her parents’ murder. After marryig Rthink, her enemies’ son, the second seaons begins with Shivanya and Rithink running away from unknown enemies who are looking for the precious Nagmani.
Sasural Simar Ka
This is another supernatural serial aired on Colors TV. Sasural Simar Ka tells the story of two sisters and their battles with various supernatural enemies – demons, withces, naagin and others. Curretny the story focuses on Simar’s enemies trying to ruin her and her children’s life.
