The Republic of Sarah is the latest drama on The CW that promises to be different from the usual superhero stuff that the channel churns out. The series comes at an opportune time when people from nations across the world to be remined of sacrifices that were made for the free life they enjoyed in their countries. The series touches on the political aspects with a bit of humor, but also highlights the challenges when some of your own stand against you.
What is The CW Series The Republic of Sarah About?
The Republic of Sarah follows Sarah and her friends as they rally their town to declare independence to save their home and way of life.
The series is set in small town Greylock in New Hampshire. The town’s peace is threatened when it is found that Greylock is sitting on a massive reserve of Coltan – a mineral that can change the tech world. Soon state backed Lydon Industries swoops in on the town with plan to mine the town for the material.
Facing with an existential crisis, Sarah decides to fight the big bad company. But with the state backing them with all its might, there is little anyone can do. Another big blow comes when she finds out that her estranged brother Danny is heading the effort for Lydon Industries. Danny is driven by a personal vendetta against the town he thinks didn’t do right by him.
With Sarah cornered from all sides, hope for saving the town dwindles – until a unique solution strikes her.
Sarah realizes that the town was never officially claimed by The United States and can vote for independence. With this mission in mind, she enlists her friends to canvass and make the town vote for Independence and save it from the State.
When the judge agrees to her argument, Sarah and her allies must now confront an even more daunting task – building a country from scratch.
