Anand L. Rai’s next ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ is all set to release in August 2017. The movie will see the return of the hit pair of Dum Laga Ke Haisha – Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in this warmhearted tale. The movie narrates the story of these two characters and will be equal part funny and meaningful. The producer promises the it will have the same feel as his other hit Tanu Weds Manu.
The pair’s last – Manmarziyan – was also a Anand L. Rai venture, but has been currently put on the back-burner for unknown reasons. But both the actors have exciting releases scheduled this year. Bhumi will be seen with Akshay Kumar and Ayushmann has one scheduled for release with Parineeti chopra.

The movie is produced jointly by Anand Rai and Eros pictures and set in Delhi and Haridwar. The two lead actors’ earlier hit too was based in Haridwar. The casting of the movie is done Mukesh Chhabra (Dangal).

As the name suggests, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan story revolves around the two lead characters and their marriage. The movie is a romantic comedy and is said to have many different facets to the story. The story revolves around the married couple and problems with their sex life. The couple deeply in love with each other have a problem that keeps their married life incomplete as the man suffers from Erectile Dysfunction.
Shubh Magal Saavdhan Review
Ayushmann Khurana and Bhoomi Pednekar once again recreate the magic on the screen. While you this may not be the movie to watch with your family if your kids aren’t the right age to explain them the ‘problem’, it is a heartwarming story that handles the subject well. The initial reviews for the movie are good. Critics like the subtle humor and the way an important subject is handles in our social context without being vulgar or crass about it.
Neils Soans of Times of India says, that while the movie doesn’t end on a high note, it nevertheless is entertaining and worth spending two hours at the movies.
Shubhtra Gupta of The Indian Express agrees that the lead pair are the ones to watch and that the movie has the potential to entertain, though bland at times.
NDTV’s Saibal Chatterjee echoes similar sentiments and endorses the way a prickly topic is handles in good taste and without being awkward about it.
