Rock on 2 soundtrack is out. Composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Rock On 2 album promises some intense strings and vocals from the singers. Unlike most other Bollywood music albums all the songs in the soundtrack are sung by the actors in the movie. So you will see Farhan Akhtar and Shraddha Kapoor singing, and believe me they are not bad. Checkout our Rock On 2 music review and don’t forget to tell us which one you like most.

Rock On 2 Music Review
The album has six songs sung by Farhan Akhtar and Shraddha Kapoor who do a wonderful job, considering they are not professional singers. Jaago builds slowly with a short guitar loop in the intro which persists through the track. Most of the energy in the song comes from Akhtar’s vocals which are supported by electronic guitar interludes. The vocal rhythms and lyrics may not always gel with the rhythm of the music, but that is the case most of the times when it comes to Hard Rock music. Udja Re banks more on percussion than strings. Shraddha Kapoor’s vocals stand out and she can give professional singers a run for their money.
Manzar Naya makes a foray into Soft Rock and tests Country music as it maintains a nice rhythmic slow pace. Akhtar’s vocals may not seem as polished as Shraddha’s voice at this leisurely pace, but brings a rustic authenticity to the song. Ho Kiw brings the Shillong music scene and band into mainstream Bollywood music as Usha Uthup gives vocals along with Summersalt vocalist Kit Shangpliang in Khasi.
Ishq Mastana brings back the Bollywood flavor to the album with a touch of Rock music as it blends multiple genres like Sufi, Bhangra, and Rock into this one track. Does it work well? Well, I am not sure, but Sufi fusion in your thing, you might like this one.
MovieRecipe Verdict: A true Hindi Rock album for Rock genre lovers. Shraddha Kapoor shines.
MovieRecipe Picks: Udja Re, Ho Kiw, Manzar Naya
