When we think of Word War II, Europe, Hiroshima, and Pearl Harbor are the things that we think of. But as much as Europe lost, it was also the army of the British Empire that fought in Africa and the East, including on the Eastern border of India, that stemmed the Japanese. Rangoon movie is set in this backdrop on the Eastern borders of India, where the British Indian Army was fighting the Japanese and the Azad Hind Sena.
Rangoon movie is scheduled to release on 24th February and starrs Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor, and Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. A period romance, Rangoon was shot in the Arunachal Pradesh on the Burma (Myanmar) border.

Rangoon Movie Story
Rangoon is a period romance set in 194os, where the Kangana Ranaut (Julia) is a war-time entertainer and torn between Saif who is a producer and Shahid who plays the role of a British Indian Army officer in Burma. The love triangle takes a look at the war from different perspectives of a businessman, a soldier, and a woman torn between her loyalties.
Rangoon Movie Review
Rangoon opened to some excitement today as the morning shows have shown decent booking and occupancy. There is no doubt that the movie is technically well made and the times are reflected well in the movie. Here’s our Rangoon movie review.
Bloody hell! So now u know how cuss words make it to the public vocabulary even if the language eludes them. Kangana once again plays a loudmouth and uncouth person which has become her stock character so there is nothing new from the actress here. As even Shahid’s character says Kangana is overacting. Her performance disappoints you.
Romance between the two is weak and the first half fails to evoke any strong emotions or make you have a soft corner for the two.
Overall, the movie fails to entertain. It positions itself as romance but fails to reach those heights as there is almost zero chemistry between the characters. The spy story was expected and predictable. However, once again it doesn’t really develop that well to get you invested in that part. In an attempt to balance both romance and machinations of a war movie, the movie loses both.
MovieRecipe Verdict: An average movie that doesn’t go anywhere and never holds your attention for more than few minutes here and there.

Rangoon movie trailer is out and gives a glimpse of the intensity of the movie. as the poster says, there is Love in the time of war. Deceit is tool to win both. The movie looks technically strong when it comes to visuals and cinematography. But Kangana Ranaut once again plays a brash, bad girl and fails to bring anything new to the role.

Shahid Kapoor is seen sporting a mustache in the movie to fit in the role of British Indian Army soldier. And Kanagana Ranaut is sporting Bob for the movie. She has also put in a lot of effort in learning Horse Riding and Ballet to give her best for the role in the movie.
