Raag Desh Story

Raag Desh story begins around 1945. India had a big army under the British rule, which was fighting alongside the Allied forces during the Second World War. During the same time, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose saw Second World War and the stretched British Forces as an opportunity to hasten India’s Freedom bid by joining forces with the invading Japanese Army.

Many officers and soldiers of the British Indian Army in the East defected to form Indian National Army or the Azaad Hind Sena under Bose. These officers were later arrested for treason and other counts and court-martialed in multiple trials starting with the trials at the Red Fort. The soldiers in the Red Fort trials included Shah Nawaz Khan (Kunal Kapoor), Amit Sadh (Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon), and Prem Sehgal (Mohit Marwah). Raag Desh is the story of these first three who were put on trial at the Red Fort in 1945.
