Old World Murder book by Kathleen Ernst is an unusual murder mystery. I can’t tell you why right away though. And since my review is spoiler free, you will have to read the book yourself to find out more. Chloe Ellefson is a likable character whom I want to meet again, in a similar exciting setting, solving another murder mystery.

Old World Murder Book Plot
In Old World Murder book, Chloe Ellefson is a curator of historical sites and has just taken a job at Old World Wisconsin, an outdoor historical museum. She runs into an agitated old lady who is trying to locate a long lost artifact. The old lady is killed in a suspicious car crash soon after. Now begins the search for the mysterious antique bowl. Chloe hits a lot of hurdles as she tries to solve this puzzle. The mystery is maintained till the end, and the author keeps you guessing all the time.
Chloe Ellefson is trying hard to forget her disastrous past life, and keep her new job. She’s living in a decrepit farmhouse that might come down any time. And trying to keep a handsome police officer at arm’s length.
Old World Murder Book Review
I like books that describe a place or profession that I know nothing about. It’s great to find out something peculiar about a place, or read about the variety of jobs people can have. This book wins on both the counts. Old Wisconsin came alive in this book and reminded me of Colonial Williamsburg. There is a lot of historical information woven in the story about settlers in the Midwest, especially Scandinavians that I found interesting to read.
I read Old World Murder in almost one sitting, and it is perfect for that chilly afternoon, when you don’t feel like doing much. There is no room for boredom here, only intrigue.
