Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Pirates of the Caribbean is perhaps the most expensive movie franchise. On Stranger Tides was made at the cost of 378.5 Million Dollars and made more than one billion at the box office. The flm was set in the year 1750 and sixteen years later in the story after At World’s End.

At World’s End, the third in the Pirates of the Caribbean released in 2007 took 300 Million Dollars to make and although it was a few years earlier made almost one billion dollars at the Box Office.
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Sequel to 2012 movie The Anvegers, Age of Ultron was released in 2015 and made at 279 Million Dollars. It was the elevent movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and The Avengers fight Ultron an AI bent on eradicating the Human race.
John Carter
One of the best Science Fiction movies of recent times, John Carter was made at 263 Million Dollars. The movie was based on the book A Princess of Mars written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The movie, however, didn’t do to well at the box office and barely recovered the expense with 284 million dollars.
Tangled
2010 animated film by Walt Disney Pictures is the only animation that figures in the top 5. Made at 260 Million Dollars the movie made 590 million at the box office. It is said that the software engineer Kelly Ward spent six years to create the perfect, flowing hair for Rapunzel in the movie Tangled.
