When the law of the land doesn’t prevail, law of the jungle begins to take root. Bollywood has had many revenge-dramas where the police have been shown incapable of executing their duty and politicians more than happy to use their position to shield criminals, many times their own. Maatr movie is one such action-drama built on apathy of the administration in the capital of India. The film is scheduled to release on 21st April 2017.

Directed by Ashtar Sayed, the movie has a strong supporting cast and will show Raveena in a new action-packed avatar. His last project Bijuka (Scarecrow) was on a similar topic and was selected at the SXSW Film Festival. However, this will his first commercial Bollywood movie.

Maatr Movie Story
Maatr story revolves around around Vidya and her fight to get justice for her daughter. The movie begins with the incident where they are attacked and her daughter is raped by the attacker on a highway. She tried everything possible within the legal framework to bring the accused to justice. However, the accused use their power and money and manage to get out of the clutches of law.
When the attacks on her family increase because of her dogged pursuit to bring attackers to justice, she faces revolt within the family who want to let it go for their own safety. However, Vidya decides to pay back to the killers and takes the only path that the administration has left her to get the justice she deserves. Vidya embarks on mission to kill every attacker present on the fateful night.
