The Kindergarten Teacher Movie Plot
The Kindergarten Teacher movie follows a New York teacher as she finds a gifted child and is enamored by his skills. Lisa Spinelli (Gyllenhaal) has been tutoring kindergarten for long and yearns for something more than each year’s little victories with five-year-olds.
To change things and add some life to her bland existence, she signs up for night classes in poetry. Her teacher (Gael García Bernal) is inspiring and attractive, but Lisa quickly spots the extent of her talents. She is newly tuned to the vast ocean of language, so when one of her own young students begins piecing together words that carry the light of brilliant poetry, she thinks she has a prodigy on her hands. Enamored by the little one’s talent, she sets out to cultivate the creative gift she sees in him.
With other members of the little boy’s family too distracted to recognize his genius, Lisa thinks it is now up to her to bring this verbal Mozart to the world.
