After a not so great performance of Dear Zindagi, SRK is back doing what he does best in Jab Harry Met Sejal. A romantic comedy that will take you on a whirlwind tour of Europe as Harry, a travel guide, and Sejal fall in love in spite of their inhibitions. Jab Harry Met Sejal Music Review
We have not had a really good music album or any great song compositions this year barring a couple like Phillauri and Begun Jaan. Jab Harry Met Sejal joins the many romantic movies that have failed to provide a memorable soundtrack with songs that will linger on your lips much after you leave the movie halls. Hawayein plays to Ariit Singh’s strengths and his fans will love another track that will be a good addition to his other similar songs.
Safar takes the jazz route but Arijit’s singing seems more constipated than easy and relaxed that should have worked for this otherwise decent song. Pritam seems to have worked hard to give a young and bubbly feel to most of the songs and bring energy to the movie. However, the words don’t seem to make the right fit to the tunes in most of the songs.
Although the overall flavor of this new soundtrack is fresh, the songs fail to bring you back to the devices to listen to the songs again and there is no way you will leap for an encore. The only exception is Sunidhi Chauhan and Mallya’s Radha that seems to go well with the words and also has a rhythm that will make your feet go tap tap.
MovieRecipe Verdict: An average album that will not make you get the songs on your playlists.
