House of Cards Season 5 Review
The season kicks off with a frenzy with Claire Underwood recording a message for the public to be on the lookout and observe people around them as the threat of home grown terrorism looms large over the country. That more or less sets the tone for the season and we expect it to get dark. Dark enough for Francis to storm into the chamber and demand for the House to pass a declaration of war on terror on American soil. A proposition that has the Republicans walking out and some Democrats in doubt.
As the story slowly unfolds, multiple plot points emerge. A despicable act of beheading on American soil, perpetrated by one of their own. But why is the political brass not united in this radical approach, why are there people around Underwood who are ready to undermine him and are afraid of him? As the Underwoods struggle to keep the public attention on the act of terrorism and away from the investigation into Frank’s past actions and term, a deeper plot slowly emerges.
House of Cards Season 5 could not have begun on a more interesting note. The first episode promises a season that will take viewers in a new direction where newer crimes by the Underwoods are bound to be uncovered and newer crimes the Underwoods are waiting to commit.
