The Happytime Murders Movie Plot
The Happytime Murders follows Connie Ewards, a LAPD detective, and her one time puppet partner Phil. The movie is set in LA in a world where humans and puppets co-exist and puppets are a regular part of the world.
Although puppets are living among humans, they are still viewed as second-class citizens during discrimination, bigotry, and violence as they attempt to find their place in the world, living with as much dignity as possible even though they’re stuffed with fluff.
The once celebrated duo is now estranged after Phil killed an innocent puppet while on duty and lost his position on the force.
Now, Phil is a PI and works in the seedy underworld of the Puppet world, serving out vigilante justice for his clients. When Connie finds him at at the site of puppet massacre, she assumes Phil had a hand to play. However, their personal animosity is resolved by the police chief who makes them work together again.
When several cast members of The Happytime Gang — a beloved children’s program from the 90’s — are murdered, Edwards and Phillips must begrudgingly reunite to track down the serial killer.
