The 70s sowed the seeds of many a discontent in one of the first economic turmoils in Mumbai. The thriving textile mills came to a halt as mill owners no more found the business viable. This gave rise to strong labor unions that spawned political parties and added to the growth of organised crime. Arjun Rampal’s Daddy movie tells the story of the other don in Mumbai, Arun Gawli. The movie is scheduled to release on 21st July 2017.

Daddy Movie Story
Daddy movie story shows us the reasons behind the rise of organised crime and gangs beyond running the smuggling ring from the docks of Mumbai. In the aftermath of textile mill shutting down, most unemployed youth found crime as the only way to earn a living. Divided between the D-Company and the Byculla gang, the struggle for supremacy rages for the next two decades.
After the death of the Byculla gang patriarch, Arun Gawli’s took his place and waged a war against D-company that he held responsible for the patriarch’s death. The war raged on the streets of Mumbai for more than a decade until both the gangs were finally brought down by the Mumbai police in the late nineties.
The film tells this story from the eyes of Arun Gawli who later turned into a politician.
