Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)

Baahubali 2 Story

The movie picks up where the first one ended with Kattappa killing Baahubali, at the end of the first movie. The main theme of the story here is the search for why Kattappa killed Baahubali. With undertones of Mahabharat and Ramayana (struggle for the throne among brothers with the evil one having access to army and warriors), the story progresses with many twists and turns.

In the first part of the movie Kattappa narrates how Amrendra Baahubali became a larger than life figure and Mashishmati’s favorite. We get to see the romance between Amrendra and Devsena, as Bhallala seeths in anger and jealousy. With his father playing Shakuni, Bhallala tries to get what he thinks is his right. But that doesn’t stop him from banishing Amrendra.

Why and what led Kattappa to kill Baahubali. I will let you see the movie to find out the real reason, but here is a hint – Kattappa killed him because he is what he is.

Baahubali 2 Review

The early review from a UK Censor Board official call Baahubali 2: The Conclusion as a cinematic marvel and comparable to best of Hollywood. Comparison with the Harry Potter series and Lord of the Rings is inevitable, and the critic believes it stands up to it.

First Day First Show Update

The movie begins with an innovative recap of the first part. The stage is set for the romance of Amarendra  Bahubali and Dev Sena. Romance and humor provide the right backdrop for the first half as the movie keeps you guessing.

Grand visuals and a thumping background score makes Bahubali 2 bigger and better as S. S. Rajmouli delivers on the promise of a cinematic spectacle.

With over the top Tollywood style action, the movie brings alive the battle scenes and accentuates Baahubali’s bal. The movie moves at a good pace and keeps you engaged most of the time. You do feel that it drags for a bit in the second half as you are set up for the final battle. However, even after a few good battles, the movie still manages to surprise you with its action sequences with shades of Kalaripayuttu in the battlefield.

If you do insist on finding a fault in this grand, larger than life experience, it is Mahendra Baahubali’s transformation from an ordinary citizen with no martial training, into a super warrior. But I am not complaining, Baahubali 2 is a movie that you should watch at the theaters and is worth every bit of your money.

Baahubali 2 Trialer

Take a look at this trailer of the movie and get in the mood for on of the costliest movies form India which has cornered nearly $5 Billion in telecast rights even before its release at the box office.
