Achari Broccoli Sabzi Recipe Ingredients
Here’s the list of ingredients that you need to make this spicy and tangy Achari Broccoli sabzi recipe. Note that that the masala that we use is Achar masala and not ‘Achari masala’. India is a tradition rich country and each state has its variations when it comes to making pickles. So a Mango pickle in Maharashtra tastes quite different than Mango Pickle in say, Uttar Pradesh or Madhya Pradesh. Use the masala that you buy to make pickles each year to get the traditional taste of pickles. Here, we have used the local Pravin Mango Pickle masala.
2 Cup Broccoli
2 Tbsp Curd
2 Medium Onions, finely chopped
2 Tbsp Sarson (Mustard) Oil
1 tsp Achar Masala
1 tsp Garlic paste or shreded
1/2 tsp Turmeric
Salt
Juice of half a Lemon
4 Cups Water
1 Tbsp Besan (chana dal flour)
1 cup water
How to Make Achari Broccoli Sabzi Recipe
Fresh vegetables taste much better if they have a bit of a bite and the juices release when you chew on them. Some veggies like Broccoli taste much better when they are lightly steamed and not cooked through for a long time. They not only lose their color, but also the taste and fresh feel. Here’s our step-by-step method to make Achari Broccoli Sabzi recipe that will give you the taste of the vegetable along with the spices.
- Bring the water to a boil
- Mix the curd, Garlic, salt, turmuric and achar masala and whisk well
- Add the broccoli to the boiling water and heat for a few minutes. Drain the water
and keep the broccoli aside. - Heat the oil and fry the onions until golden
- Add the curd mixture saute until the water separates
- Add the Broccoli florets and toss in the sauce
- Mix the Besan in one cup water and add to the pot
- Simmer for a few minutes
- Serve with Hot Chapati or parathas.
