The Post Movie Plot
The Post movie follows Katherine Graham (Streep), the first woman publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they race to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents.
The movie focuses on exposing documents about the Vietnam war and were also called as the Pentagon Papers or officially United States-Vietnam Relations. The document chronicled the history of US Defense involvement in Vietnam between 1946 to 1967. The expose brought out the information that showed how President Johnson lied to the American people about the war and scope of US armed conflict in the area at the time.
The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers – and their very freedom – to help bring long-buried truths to light.
