It is raining historical dramas in TV. After the success of Baahubali 2, there seems to be an unprecedented to cash in on the trend. Sony TV‘s Prithvi Vallabh serial appears to be based on a book by the same name, written in 1920. Baahubali 2 was successful because it could visually create a unseen world. What remains to be seen is can small screen producers put in the money required to recreate something similar. This will run along with Aarambh on Star Plus, and Porus which is in the works.
Pritvhi Vallabh Serial Cast
Produced by Aniruddh Pathak (Siya Ke Ram), the new desi serial is said to start filiming in Bhopal initially and then move on to Naigaon near Mumbai. Prithvi Vallabh serial also marks the return of Hindi TV’s favorite stars Sonarika Bhadoria (Mahadev) (@bsonarika) and Ashish Sharma (Siya Ke Ram).

Prithvi Vallabh Serial Story
Prithvi Vallabh serial story is said to be about two neighboring kings. Once is aggressive and other wants peace. However, the other kingdom must defend to get to that peace. Prithvi Vallabh (Ashish Sharma) or Munja was a ruler of Malwa, Madhya Pradesh who also ruled large parts of Gujrat.
It all begins when the neighboring king fails in battle with Prithvi and is insulted in front of the entire kingdom. While he is released from imprisonment, his sister – who we believe will be played by Sonarika Bhadoria – forces him to go back and capture Prithvi. Prithvi is captured and imprisoned. However Prithvi and his enemy’s sister fall in love. Will their love triumph? Or will the brother now decide to kill Prithvi and take his revenge?
If the story is indeed based on Kanhaiylal Munshi’s book, the audiences are in for another Romance-Dram set in time when India was a land of Kings and Kingdoms.
