Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Music Review | 2016 New Bollywood Songs

Not that Karan Johar would have compromised on any marketing effort, but circumstances ensured that the movie got all the free publicity it can get. After being in the news for a couple of weeks, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is set to get its Diwali release. Ae Dil hai Mushkil is a romantic drama set in London and was also shot in Paris and some other European locations. The drama appears to be a love triangle spanning number of years and in Indian and England. Take a read of our Ae Dil Hai Mushkil music review and share your favorite of the lot.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Music

The music for the movie is composed by Pritam and the tracks seem to keep with the flow of the movie. The album looks formulaic with a love song, a fast-paced song, and a couple of melancholic numbers. This will be Pritam Chakraborty’s fourth album in 2016 after Azhar and Dishoom.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Music Review

The short album has five tracks with Arijit Singh as the lead singer for most of the songs. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is no doubt the lead song and is perhaps the most memorable song composed by Pritam this year. The western symphony style music gives the melodious tune a haunting quality and listeners will remember this song for a long time.

However, the remaining tracks although seem to fit in with the music, do not have the same pull as the title track. The Breakup Song is a fast-paced number that makes light of a other wise serious topic. This could have been a good number except for the silly Rap interlude that ruins an otherwise catchy song. With two entirely different treatments to the songs from the same movie, Pritam continues with giving his listener’s an eclectic album. Bulleya gets a Rock music treatment, which is done quite well. Amit Mishra sings the song with enough energy and spunk to get you hooked. His vocals play a very important role in making it one of the good songs in the album. And, of course that it is quite similar to the rhythms on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Can’t say the same of Ariit Singh’s Channa Mereya as he seems to be struggling when vocals become the focus of a song more often. Cutiepie too doesn’t enthuse much and comes across as a run-of-the-mill wedding number that is forgettable.

MovieRecipe Verdict: An eclectic album with at least one for each taste.

Bulleya Song Lyrics

Meri rooh ka parinda phadphadaye,
Lekin sukoon ka jazeera mil na paaye,
Ve ki karaan, Ve ki karaan;

Ik baar ko tajalli toh dikha de,
Jhoothi sahi magar tasalli to dila de,
Ve ki karaan, Ve ki karaan;

Raanjhan de yaar Bulleya,
Sunle pukaar Bulleya,
Tu hi toh yaar Bulleya,
Murshid mera, Murshid mera

Tera mukaam kamle,
Sarhad ke paar Bulleya,
Parvardigar Bulleya,
Haafiz tera, Murshid mera;
Main taan gul se lipti titli ki tarah muhajir hoon,
Ek pal ko thehroon, pal mein udd jaaun,
Ve main tan hoon pagdandi,labhdi ae jo raah jannat ki,
Tu mude jahan main saath mud jaaun;

Tere kaarvan mein shamil hona chahun,
Kamiya taraash ke main kaabil hona chahun,
Ve ki karaan, Ve ki karaan;
Raanjhan de yaar Bulleya,
Sun le pukaar Bulleya,
Tu hi toh yaar Bulleya,
Murshid mera, Murshid mera

Tera mukaam kamle,
Sarhad ke paar Bulleya,
Parvardigar Bulleya,
Haafiz tera, Murshid mera,

Murshid Mera, Murshid Mera, Murshid Mera.
