5 Biscuit Recipes You Will Love to Make

·

Who doesn’t like biscuits? No not the bready, savory ones – the crunchy, sweet ones. I have not met a single soul who would say no to crunchy, buttery biscuits. A perfect snack with the afternoon tea, biscuits are much more versatile. And you can make many interesting recipes with this yummy bite sized goodies.

Say biscuit and I imagine sweet, dark chocolate sandwiched between crunchy chocolate flavored slabs of biscuits. But there are some awesome savory snacks that you can mix in minutes with salty crackers too.

Let us look at some interesting gourmet recipes that you can make. Buy biscuits online and liven up your parties in just a couple of hours.

Tiramisu

This coffee-flavored Italian dessert is simply irresistible, when made right. The dessert is a combination of light and creamy Mascarpone cheese with coffee dipped lady’s fingers at the bottom. The problem is, we don’t get lady’s fingers in most grocery stores in India. But there is a way out of it. You can use some robust biscuits, like Digestive. You can use Marie biscuits to make that crust or try the Britannia Premium Rusk, which is soft, but also robust and I think is closest to Lady’s Fingers.

Mango No-bake Cheesecake

Mangoes are in season and it is the best time to try some new things with the king of fruits. The traditional cheesecake recipe uses loads of cream cheese and crumbs and an oven, of course. The no-bake recipe usually uses gelatin crystals to set the cream cheese on top of the crunchy biscuit made crumb base. Pick a biscuit of your choice – I think Goodday with cashews should work quite well here – some cream cheese and you can have this lovely dessert ready within the hour.

Ice-cream Sandwich

That’s one of my favorite desserts. It brings the two favorite things together. And more importantly, we don’t get it here in India. You can do it from scratch and make your own ice-cream. How about a chocolate biscuit and mango ice-cream. Or if you are an Oreo fan, get Vanilla ice-cream from your grocery store and make sandwiches with a slightly softened ice-cram. Freeze them again and you have a surprise dessert ready for kids, later.

Bannofee Pie

Bannofee pie is another dessert recipe you can make with simple ingredients like biscuits, cream, and banana. Get a pack of Digestive biscuits to make the pie crust. Pour over the condensed milk mixed caramel and let it cool. Once you have this part ready, all you need to do is chop on some fresh bananas and top it with cream from the can.

Crackers and Cheese

Salty biscuits are a perfect and economical snack for your parties. You can mix and match them with almost anything and they will be a hit. All you need is a few packets of Krackjack like biscuits – only a bit more robust that those – and some imagination. Use a bit of canned Tuna, Mayo, eggs and pickles and top the biscuits with this gooey mixture. Garnish them with some herb like Parsley or coriander and you have a gourmet snack ready for your next party in minutes!
