Dil Toh Deewana Hai Music Review

Dil toh deewana hai music review

Dil Toh Deewana Hai music is composed by Anand Raj Anand and Zubeen Garg. We have seen many movies around confilicting emotions and value systems of children whose parents have settled in the Western countries. Dil Toh Deewana Hai looks East and explores a similar story in Malaysia.

Zeenat Aman returns to the screen after a long time and plays the mother of the boy. Raj Babbar is the rich father of the girl in the love story.

Music Review

Most Bollywood soundtracks get the music right, but fail miserably at getting good song writers. Dil Toh Deewa Hai gets the lyrics right with Dr. Kumar Vishwas and Ibrahim Ashk, but Anand Raj Anand completely fails to capitalize on good song writing.

It appears that the mood of the movie and the target audience has forced the composer’s hand at making songs upbeat and peppy. However, it looks like the composer is unable to express this mood through melody and depends heavily on beats and tempo.

Dil Toh Deewana Hai

The track is peppy and sung in the right mood by Zubeen Garg. But the composition is not quite attention grabbing. The composition does not complement the good lyrics of the song. The music almost seems detached from the song and feels like it you could have fit any words and it wouldn’t have mattered.

Kyun Dil Ki Galiyon Mai

Shreya ghoshal sings this one with a sweet voice of a teenager. The vocals are a strong point here. You will want this on your easy listening playlist. The melodious soundtrack will appeal to all. It would have done without some of the electronic sounds that unnecessarily encroach every now and then.

Hone Do Romance

The song does not grab you or does not have the pull that will make you listen to it repeatedly. Common and uninspiring beats hammer you through the songs. The only identifying factor here is the out of place Bhangra vocals. Otherwise the song is completely forgettable.

Singers: Anand Raj Anand

Dhoop Khile Jab Tum Muskaao

In an attempt to make tracks peppy, Anand Raj Anand has wasted the good lyrics once again in this song. What could have been a nice romantic, melodious song is now as good as any other track in the album.

Singers: Zubeen Garg

Raat Bhar Tanha Raha

Pankah Udhas sings this in his usual style, only the song appears a bit rushed or fast. Not sure if its the track on Youtube or the track is really so. With flute interludes, the song can make it to your easy listening playlist. This is another song from the album that you can return to. I do however think that it is a tad too fast than it should have been.

Singers: Pankaj Udhas

Mujhe Itna Bolna Hai

Every romance movie must have a ‘Dard Geet’ (Lambi Judai). Richa Sharma begins this with high pitched vocals which are later ruined by electronic sounds. The peppy touch once again ruins the mood of the song, which could have been much better with groovy rhythms.
