The much awaited premiere of HBO’s streaming platform is here. HBO Max will be available to viewers in the US from May 27 2020. The new platform promises an impressive slate of new original programs and some from its extensive library. The network brings an eclectic mix of different genres that caters to everyone from the grandpa in your house to the little one running around.

In addition to series, specials, and docs, ‘HBO Max’ will feature a library of more than 2,000 feature films within the first year. Audiences will be able to watch 700 blockbuster films via the HBO service.

The streaming platform debuts with new programs that bring both scripted and unscripted series. Here’s list of debut shows that you might want to put on your list for May 2020.

Craftopia

Craftopia is an epic kids crafting competition show hosted and executive produced by YouTube influencer Lauren Riihimaki aka (LaurDIY). 

Legenadary

The reality TV series pulls directly from the underground ballroom community. Voguing teams (aka “houses”) must compete in unbelievable balls and showcase sickening fashion in order to achieve “legendary” status.

Love Life

Love Life, the first full-length scripted series to star Oscar® nominee Anna Kendrick, is about the journey from first love to last love, and how the people we’re with along the way make us into who we are when we finally end up with someone forever.

Looney Tune Cartoons

Looney Tunes Cartoons, an all-new series from Warner Bros. Animation starring the cherished Looney Tunes characters. Marquee Looney Tunes characters will be featured in their classic pairings in simple, gag-driven and visually vibrant stories.

The Not Too Late Show With Elmo

Elmo is the host of his very own talk show and he’s going to bring you some (not-too-late) fun with an all-new, celeb-studded talk show series.

On the Record

On The Record presents the powerful  haunting story of music executive Drew Dixon as she grapples with her decision to become one of the first women of color, in the wake of  #MeToo, to come forward and publicly accuse hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons of sexual assault.

Additional Summer and Fall Releases

After the initial launch, Max Originals will continue to premiere on the streamer at a regular intervals through summer and fall including,

  • The Flight Attendant, starring and executive produced by Kaley Cuoco, from Berlanti Productions and based on the novel by New York Times bestselling author Chris Bohjalian
  • Friends unscripted cast reunion special;
  • Doom Patrol, all-new original episodes of the critically acclaimed DC fan favorite
  • Search Party marks the return of the critically beloved mystery comedy with a brand new season;
  • Expecting Amy, the three-part documentary series, an unfiltered and intimate view into comedian Amy Schumer’s life on tour creating a stand-up special during her difficult pregnancy
  • Raised by Wolves, sci-fi series from director and executive producer Ridley Scott, the award-winning creator behind The Martian, Gladiator, and Blade Runner;
  •  Close Enough, the adult animated comedy from J.G. Quintel (creator of Cartoon Network’s Emmy-winning Regular Show), a hilarious look at the surreal life of a millennial family living with roommates;
  • Adventure Time: Distant Lands- BMO, the first of four breakout specials resurrecting Cartoon Network’s Emmy and Peabody award-winning franchise Adventure Time.
