The English Game Plot

‘The English Game’ follows Fergus Seuter and Ted Stokes as the two men from opposite social ladder bring football to the masses.

The series is set in England at the time of great social and economic distress. In such time, the game of football became the measure of freedom and claim to a better life.

When a hitherto unheard team of textile workers builds a team and challenges the Gentleman team, playing with the working class was unheard of. And although there are some who think this could be a nice diversion and good for business, not everyone shares the vision.

The drama charts the origins of football through the eyes of two men and how those involved in its creation reached across the class divide to establish the game as the world’s most popular sport.
