‘Airplane mode’ movie follows Ana as she realizes the superficial connections and nature of the social media world.
Each generation has its own way of doing things and their own idols to get influenced with. But social media has made possible for anyone to become an influencer with a few clicks and some candid photos.
Ana is a young fashion design graduate and dream to become a coveted stylist in the fashion world. But when an exciting new opportunity comes up, she agrees to try her skills at becoming an influencer.
As she scales up the follower numbers, the nonstop attention leads to a device addiction. So much so that hardly a week goes by when she is not in some mishap because she too involved with the device.
When Ana crashes her car and is badly injured, her family makes a decision to send her on a device holiday and ship her to her grandma’s home where there is no Internet coverage.
Unhappy and disgruntled, Ana slowly begins to connect with her grandpa and realize that all those friends on social media aren’t really her friends. Being disconnected opens new horizons and there is also some love in her life as she adjusts to her new lifestyle.
