Criminal Justice Hotstar Review

The series begins on a strong note and captures audiences by the end of the first episode. After a brief introduction to the characters, it gets to the main plot pretty quickly, which is rare in Indian series.

For those who have watched the original or The Night Of, this version does not bring anything new. I don’t like that the version copies even the scratching lawyer. But I will say that the story is adapted to Indian situations quite well. There seem to be a couple of things that don’t fit in – like the lawyer advising his client with getting a compensation claim.

There is also glaring technical mistake where the lead investigator hands over the inhaler pump to the suspect – unless, of course, getting that evidence thrown out is part of the plan later in the series.

Overall, the series comes with good production values, and there is nothing lacking in the performances. One rarely gets to see series like these on Indian television and if you are a mystery fan, this will keep you glued to the screen for sure.
