Barefoot in the Dark Book Plot
Barefoot in the Dark book picks up two weeks after the end of the last book. Richard a British billionaire and Samantha, a cat burglar, first crossed paths when Samantha tried to rob him early on in the series. The two have now come far with Sam leaving her past behind and concentrating on the legit life, engaged to Richard.
However, when the press is not ready to leave them alone and Richard catches Sam trying to run away from them. To spend some quality time, Richard decided to take Sam to his Scottish family and to the castle. Sam’s dreams of royalty is shattered when she sees a dilapidated mansion and Richard’s not too happy family.
The vacation takes an interesting turn when Sam finds out about legend of highwayman’s loot – a buries treasure in the castle. With none of the family ready to let on any real clues to the treasure, Sam’s job connecting with the family Richard has ignored for the last fifteen years becomes all too difficult.
With unreliable phones, intermittent power and lights, and a rumoured restless spirit haunting the castle, this vacation in the Scottish Highlands might be just a bit too much for Sam – or maybe not.

The old series fans will be delighted to connect with their favorite couple once again and slide back into the world they so loved. The wit and banter between Richard and Sam continues to be the highlight of the story along with some humorous moments. The Scottish Highlands and the castle setting adds to the aura of the story and makes the book a fun and entertaining read.
