Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Blogs – whatever your choice of communication, you definitely cannot do it without photos and videos. In a restaurant, on the move in a bus or a plane, you have to go click, click, click. A good camera has become essential to bloggers. But carrying a DSLR everywhere, all the time, is a bit too much for someone who is not really a professional photographer.
I would love to have a phone with a camera that is better than a normal point and shoot and cheaper than a DSLR. Good photos are critical to a food and travel blog. While people cannot taste the food you describe, the eyes can feast on the details and imagine the gooey cheese in the photos.
Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 at 14,000 looks like a consummate photographer’s delight. The f 2.0 aperture is just enough to get some nice shots of food and dive into close-up photography. You can play with the Manual mode and adjust the focus on the exact spot you want. This ability can give you the flexibility to focus on the object at the far end of the frame instead of the center, which is generally the point of focus.

But the whole point of having a good camera is to be able to capture good photos on the go while traveling or take pictures at a rapid speed. The Auto Focus mode doesn’t disappoint. The Asus Laser 2 lens and the phone are very responsive and take only couple of seconds to focus on the object in the center of the camera interface.
Another important feature that I like about Zenfone 2 Laser is the multiple modes that you can choose while capturing photos. You can choose the most appropriate mode for each kind. For example, the Panorama feature, first of its kind I have come across, is simply awesome.
There is a limit to the area that you can capture, even with a wide angle lens. Zenfone 2 Laser extends this feature of the camera with the Panorama mode.

After you click the picture, the mode give you a couple seconds to swivel the camera vertically or horizontally and captures the wider landscape. This wide capture is then integrated into the final image, giving you a larger (panoramic) view than you would normally have.

Some other modes like the Depth of Field and Miniature, help you create a fake DSLR effect, which otherwise the lens isn’t capable of. You can adjust the amount of background blurring and keep the focus area sharp to give a Bokeh effect.

Another similar effect is the Miniature effect that helps you adjust the size of an object in the photo. The difference in this mode compared to the Depth of Field mode is that you can define the area that you want to be in focus and blur the remaining part of the photo.

I have tried many different smartphone cameras like Samsung, Xperia, Lumia etc. Currently, Asus Zenfone Laser 2 5.5 at Rs. 14,000 and the new variant – Asus Zenfone 2 Laser ZE550KL – at around Rs. 10,000 is no doubt the best choice for food and travel bloggers to capture stunning images.
Another thing that travel bloggers should absolutely not go out without is a power bank, especially those who use smartphones as their primary camera. The sleek Asus power bank can charge yoru smartphone twice and keep you juiced. Apart from the small size, what is most important is that the phone is recharged in minutes saving valuable time. Well and if you have to click right then, you can carry the power bank in your palm too.
