Eight strangers traveling on Christmas eve in spite of bad weather warnings are stuck in a blizzard. A mini pile-up caused by an icy road and a fallen tree puts them together in an abandoned church, where they gradually share each others’ stories. We have Joseph Wells trying to mend his marriage, Christy – a new, young bride who is full of hope and is coming to terms with married life, James Mason – a grieving father and husband, and Drake who has lost everything in bad investments but is putting up a brave face for his wife Madeline. Yet this is not a story of despair – it’s a story of hope.
A heart warming story with effortless performances. A Christmas drama fit for the holidays, something you would love to watch sitting in your couch with a cup of hot chocolate. You don’t see a lot of lights and ho ho ho . . . in this movie but it leaves you feeling warm and full of positive energy along with a great song in the end. The story ends on a happy note where the strangers find friends for life and gives everyone the courage to get over the troubled times – a Christmas miracle that we all need.
