Christmas Comes to Main Street Book Plot
Fans of the Briar Creek series will like this holiday version full of Christmas cheer and plenty of snow. Briar Creek is a magical town that is covered in snow and guarantees a white Christmas. Kara Hastings has embarked on an ambitious project and opened her own cookie shop. Most of the town, including her own mother, expect her to fail which has strengthened her resolve, but hasn’t really equipped her to put her best foot forward. She doesn’t lack enthusiasm, but maybe she does lack the experience and business sense to make her venture a success. Her side project – making ginger bread houses – has her excited though. Kara’s in a sugar induced frenzy with a million things to do when little sis turns up at her door, engaged!
Nate Griffin has reluctantly decided to spend the holidays at an inn. His aunt’s inn in Briar Creek, to be precise. It’s pretty obvious his aunt has high hopes from Nate. Nate settles down, trying to connect with an old woman he hasn’t met for years. Hot shot management consultant that he is, Nate finds it hard to wind down in the cheery small town.
Nate runs into Kara and sparks fly. Nate manages to antagonize her but there is some attraction there too. Kara runs into him when she delivers cookies at the inn every day.
Christmas Comes to Main Street Book Review
The story’s all about Kara’s trials and tribulations over the holiday period, worrying about keeping her business afloat, and Nate fighting his attraction to Kara, falling in love with Briar Creek against his best intentions.
Christmas Comes to Main Street is a sweet love story with plenty of holiday motifs and Christmas cheer to set the mood for the season.
