If you are looking for a procedural, this is not it. The new series is more of a thrilling drama that explores emotions with a legal mystery in the background.

Burden of Truth TV Show Plot
Burden of Truth TV Show follows corporate attorney Joanna Hanley, who is on a fast track career in the city as partner in a big legal firm. When she is asked to go to her small hometown to represent a big client against sick school girls, she wins the case for her corporate client without much effort.
However, she slowly realizes that the girls are much sicker that she earlier thought. Suffering with constant twitches and seizures, their lives are thrown out of gear. Soon, her past catches up with her and she is compelled to find out why her family was made to leave town.
To fill the void she feels and to find out the secrets of her family and past, Joanna must stay back in the town to uncover the secrets.

Episode 1
When it’s suspected that her big-pharma client’s vaccine has caused a mysterious illness affecting a handful of teenaged girls, high-powered attorney Joanna Hanley returns to her hometown of Millwood to quickly and quietly settle the case. However, once she arrives, she is faced with ghosts from the past that leave her rattled and questioning her position on the lawsuit. Local town lawyer Billy Crawford is fighting on behalf of the girls and has a vested interest in winning after his niece, Molly, is affected. Things take a surprising turn when new evidence comes to light that drastically affects both Joanna and Billy on both legal and personal levels
Episode 2
In a town that’s as foreign as it is familiar, Joanna contends with questions over her family’s hasty departure when she was a teenager, while attempting to convince the locals that she has in fact switched sides. Billy gets a lead on the case from an unexpected source. As more girls fall ill, Joanna attempts to convince her father, David, the head of her law firm, to represent the teenagers.
