Last week, we followed Aurora as she unraveled the mystery of the dead actress visiting her town. Hallmark Movies and Mysteries continues this week with another cozy mystery movie from the Emma Fielding mystery series. Past Malice movie on HMM takes Emma to an old castle that seems to hide much more than artifacts in its bowels, and poses a threat to her life.

Past Malice movie is based on the thirds book in the Emma Fielding Mystery Series and is adapted by Phoef Sutton for the movie. Kevin Fair directs the movie with Cortney Thorne-Smith and James Tupper in the lead roles.

Past Malice Movie Plot
Adelle Fisher (Sitara Hewitt) asks her old friend Emma Fielding (Courtney Thorne-Smith) to consult on the old Chandler Castle for the state Historical Trust it wants to acquire. Adelle doesn’t trust the archaeologist currently working there and wants Emma to shadow the man, Professor Thomas Webster (Vincent Gale).
On arrival at Chandler Castle, Emma learns that a number of valuable artifacts have gone missing from the estate. She calls on her old friend, FBI agent Jim Conner (James Tupper), to stop by and weigh in on it since he has handled numerous cases involving such theft. Conner and Emma discover a sealed chamber in the bowels of the castle. Through an opening, they discover the dead body of Webster. But who killed Webster, and why?
Assisted by a pair of clever graduate students, Fielding searches for clues to the man’s murder. They soon discover what appears to be the remnants of a witch’s workshop. Fueled by local legend of a curse on the house and family, Emma and Conner assemble a rather lengthy roster of potential killers, any of whom may have a very good reason for wanting Webster dead.
From the Chandler heir, who suspects that Webster was hoarding valuable antiquities, to the groundskeeper who feels the property should rightfully be his, to Emma’s friend whose Historical Trust stands to gain from its acquisition of the castle, to a collector who was cheated out of a fortune by Webster, there is no shortage of suspects.
