Crashing premiered in 2017 and was one of the few comedy series about Stand-Up Comedy that are released in the last year. However, this one received good reviews from critics and audiences and was one of the successful comedies of the year. Crashing Season 2 returns on HBO this January as Pete embarks on a night of debauchery in the city and questions his faith.

Crashing Season 2 Plot
In the first season, after discovering his wife, Jessica, in a compromising position with another man, aspiring but unworldly stand-up comedian Pete flees to the New York comedy scene, where he crashes on other people’s couches, in the process learning hard lessons about life and himself.
Crashing Season 2, feeling lost in the universe, Pete (Holmes) has an enlightening conversation with an atheist, which sends him into a night of New York debauchery. This marks the beginning of a new season in which Pete starts to question his faith and find his voice.
With the help of Ali, a fellow rising comic, Pete explores the alternative comedy scene, a world of comedy nerds, apartment shows and no-drink minimums, where he begins to thrive. As he continues to lean on the hospitality of comedy greats, Pete explores all types of comedy, from benefit shows to the college market to roast battles. These diverse encounters test his enthusiasm and optimism, but also promise to make him a better comedian as he tries to survive the competitive world of New York stand-up.

Episode 1
Pete has a chance encounter with famed magician Penn Jillette, who shakes his faith and inspires a questioning Pete to try living with abandon for one night.

Pete decides to spend the day with Leif (George Basil), who encourages him to be open to the universe. Their carefree attitude is challenged when the two find themselves at odds and in trouble with the law.
