  • Dil Ke Rahi (Raman Mahadevan)

The music captures the mood and tone of the movie well. Most of the tracks can fit into easy-listening, contemporary music category. You have a couple of upbeat and fast-paced tracks. Chu Liya sung by Papon and Neha Rajpal is melodious and has a folksy feel. The flute and slow drum beats give it a very pahadi feel and will transport you to the hills of Kashmir or Himachal. On the other hand, Meharam Mere is catchy and picks up quite well. Mohit Chauhan sings the song very well and you will want to listen to his vocals again and again.

Although there is nothing to dislike about the album, none of the songs make a big impact. In that sense, the album is quite unremarkable. I wouldn’t jump the hoops or run to the store to get my hands on the album, for sure. Dil Ke Raahi starts with an enticing guitar strokes  but the song doesn’t develop well enough and it feels almost out of tune at times.  Although soothing to listen, most tracks lack melody and rhythm.

MovieRecipe Verdict: Average Compositions will not capture your attention, but there is no reason to not listen to the tracks.

MovieRecipe Picks: Chu Liya, Meharam Mere
