The Good Doctor Review
The season premiers with introducing us to our shy, but high functioning young doctor trying to get to his surgical residency. Freddie Highmore gives a good performance and shows a good range of expressions and emotions. The series captures your attention withing minutes as Dr.Shaun is forced to aid an accident victim as soon as he lands at the airport.
Fans of House MD will love to watch the new drama as Dr. Murphy cycles through various analysis and deductions with viewers getting a visual digital representation of his thoughts on the screen. However, compared to Dr. House, Shaun is more empathetic and driven equally by emotions. This empathy and his back story make the basis for his behavioral traits.
The critics believe there is too much melodrama and emotional baggage that overshadows the thrill of medical drama. However, Freddie Highmore and his well defined character has the strength to power the drama, which may become more medical as it progresses.
