Boom or Bust, Sultan has raised a lot of anticipation. Whichever way the movie goes, we will see Sultan movie reviews and movie critics talk about this for a long time. Redemption seems to be the going theme in Bollywood. Saala Khadoos, based on boxing, saw a boxer train a new protege. Sultan, however, is about a traditional wrestler starting a new life as a mixed martial arts fighter. A down and out gold medal winner wanting to redeem himself and fight for the lost glory.
Produced under the Yarsh Raj banner, audiences can be assured of a polished and technically well finished movie. Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo with Yash Raj Films last year didn’t make a big splash, but I will say it was a good family entertainer that I would watch any day.

Sultan Movie Review
Sultan has some strong supporters in the film and television world who dub it as emotional drama and must-watch.
The movie opens with a down and out Pro Wrestling, IPL style tournament. Its board members debating to shut down the tournament and count their losses. Only one thing can save this wrestling league full of foreign mixed martial arts fighters. An Indian fighter that will bring in local audience. Give them something to cheer and feel proud of. And Sultan is perhaps the answer. The question is, does the fighter still have it in him to make a dent.
Sultan is full of surprises for viewers. A Drama that has just the right level and intensity of Action. I will say that this is a movie that has got the Action-Drama genre just right. You have the emotions to drive the protagonist, but these are not the usual, run-of-the-mill reasons. The movie packs in multiple social messages. The most prominent being the acceptance and equality of a girl child. Other than wrestling itself, this is another cause that Haryana needs to desperately take up to bump up its male-female child ratio.
Salman and Anushka dominate most of the screen time, but you won’t get bored of them. There is a dejected and defeated sultan, there is a vibrant and happy Sultan, and there is a furious, passionate Sultan. Salman Khan has got all these various moods and expressions right in the movie.
The first half tends to stretch a bit toward the interval, but the lagging momentum of the first part is soon forgotten in the second. The first part of the movie mostly tells the story of Sultan and Aarfa. Here lies the reason why Sultan has lost even though he has won the gold medal and is the reigning wrestling world champion. And here lies the motivation and reason why the champion must now participate in a Pro Wrestling championship that has more to gain from his participation than him.
The training shots are bit predictable with the iconic Rocky run in the backdrop of Rashtrapati Bhavan. But the fight sequences in the ring will engage the viewers as they build the right tension and intense moments.
Sultan is a movie that communicates passion, emotion, and intensity with subtle social messages. It is a movie that you will love to watch with the entire family and enjoy the light and humorous moments as much as you will enjoy the wrestling.
