Chaurya Music Review
With a strong cast with veteran actors like Milind Shinde, Ganesh Yadav, and Pradeep Velankar, the movie promises to be a thriller exposing the behind-the-scenes activities in places like Shani Shingnapur. Mayuresh Kelkar composes the music for Chaurya. As the theme dictates, the soundtrack is based in folk music sung mostly in context of holy places. .
Chaurya
Music Composer: Mayuresh Kelkar
Artists: Aadarsha Shinde, Ganesh Chandanshive & Urmila Dhangar
Label: Zee Musi Comany Ltd.
With the Wari season and the Ganpati festival round the corner, Deva Vachun Sun sung by Ganesh Chandanshive could make it up the charts. Aadarsha Shinde sings Choratyancha Fad with passion that complements the tempo and chorus of the song. The song summarizes the theme of the movie as the singer outlines the changing picture of Shingnapur as people have begun to bolt their houses. He goes on to show that people have forgotten the morals taught to them and most of the lot that flocks these temples now are white-collar thieves. The flute interlude captures the dejection of the singer and sets the tone of the song.
Urmila Dhangar sings a short item number in local flavor with fervor, but the composition doesn’t inspire much and is forgettable. The Churya theme, however, captures the tension of the movie well.
Overall, there is not much variety in the album songs, but I guess the movie doesn’t give any room to have a romantic or a party number. Thankfully, the composers have stuck to traditional instruments and not tried to make something which doesn’t fit. However, these are not the songs that you will listen out of the movie theaters often.
