McMafia TV Series Plot

As the English-raised son of Russian exiles with a mafia history, Alex has spent his life trying to escape the shadow of that criminal past, building his own legitimate business and forging a life with his girlfriend Rebecca (Juliet Rylance).

But when his family’s past returns to threaten them, Alex is forced to confront his values to protect those he loves. What starts out as a story of survival and revenge becomes an epic tale of a man’s struggle against the lures of corruption in the modern world and in himself.

McMafia is impressive and intimate, glamorous and gritty, global in scale and forensic in detail.

McMafia TV Series Review

McMafia TV series checks of all the essentials of a Mafia thriller. In the first episode itself it is clear that we are in for a Michael Corleone story as Alex must shed his clean image and join the muddy waters to ensure that his family is safe. It is good that the focus of the series is on strategies and counter strategies the mafia heads adopt rather than on an all-out street fight.

The cast performances are good and the tension gradually builds up as the show progresses. At the end what you get is a Godfather spread across international borders and a much larger scope where politics, diplomacy, and business are all intertwined with a lot more at stake.
