Disney opened its first studio in Hollywood in 1923. D23 Expo 2017 pays homage to this date. And on this momentous occasion, the Disney team announced a number of exciting new animation and Live-Action movies that Disney fans will see in the coming year. Disney also announced a list of new games that gamers can get their hands on soon.

The visitors who thronged the studios in thousands for the D23 Expo were introduced to what Disney has in store for them next year and got to see sneak previews and footage that now one outside the studios had ever seen before.

Releasing in the November 2017 during Thanksgiving is Coco, the Disney animation with an emotional story. The movie explores the theme of family bonds and celebrating our past. The movie has a number of songs, some traditional Mexican songs and some new.

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure

A brief 20 min short will be ared during the release of Disney’s COCO later this year and is set in a time during the first winter since Anna and Elsa have reopened the doors of the castle, said Kristen Bell. Anna and Elsa open the doors of the castle to all the villagers to celebrate Christmas, but the villagers leave early to celebrate Christmas with their families. The girls are disappointed as they do not have any Christmas family traditions of their own. To cheer them up, Olaf decides to bring them the best Christmas traditions ever seen.

Wreck it Ralph 2 – Ralph Breaks the Internet

The original team is comes together for this new feature that takes Ralph and Penelope out of the Arcade world and out into the wild Internet! Sarah Silverman (Penelope) further shared that Sugar Rush breaks and Ralph and Penelope must travel into the depths of the Internet to find the replacement part and fix the game.

Incredibles 2

We finally get to see Incredibles 2 after a long wait of nearly a decade. Written and Directed By Brad Bird the sequel takes you back into the world the superhero family with most of the original cast.

And it not just some great new animation movies. With marvel Studios and Lucas Films, Disney also announced a set of exciting new Live Action movies that will wow you, at the D23 Expo 2017.

Avengers – Infinity Wars

Kevn Feige announced how Infinity Wars is going to be the greatest Avengers movie of the all and will have evry single Superhero in the movie. You have the original Avengers who will be joined by the Falcon, some from the Guardians of the Galaxy, along with Black Panther, Spiderman, and the mighty Thor. Joe Russo also shared a lookback at the journey that the characters and actors took over the last ten years.

A Wrinkle in Time

Shaun Bailey, at the event said that movies cannot be just made for the sake of making movies. Here has to be a story that can stand the test of time and A Wrinkle Directed by Ava Duvernay (Queen Sugar) and starring Storm Reed, Chris Pine (Mr. Murray), Reese Witherspoon (Mrs Whatsit), Mindy Kaling (Mrs. Whoo), Oprah Winfrey (Mrs. Witch), releasing March 2018 is going to be one such story. Based on the book by Madeleine L’Engle published in the 60s, which was later translated in 35 languages.

Star Wars – The Last Jedi

Also returns for another installment of Star Wars which sees many of the Force Awakens characters and cast return along with Luke (Mark Hamill) who gets a bigger part in The last Jedi. Written and Directed by Ryan Johnson, The Last Jedi promises to be another spectacular Star Wars movie. Mark Hamill said that he is excited as the story brings a lot of new things, which is difficult after these many movies in the franchise.

Mary Popins Returns

Directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into the Woods), Scott Whitman and mark Shayman (Hairspray) write the songs for this new musical. The musical will be released during Christmas 2018. Emily Blunt returns for the role. Rob Marshall shared that he didn’t know there were eight other Mary Poppins stories and after going through them he decided to bring one with Michael and Jane grown up. So we can say that this sequel will have grown up Michel and Jane and will be set in a different timeline.
