Woh Apna Sa serial, a new show on Zee TV, is tentatively scheduled for January 2017 release is based on the Bollywood version of the movie Stepmom. The Hindi movie ‘We Are Family’ had a strong cast of Kareena Kapoor and Kajol, but did not do too well at the box office. The roles of these two leading ladies will be now performed by Disha Parmar and Ridhi Dogra in Woh Apna Sa serial on Zee TV.

All the leads in the serial will be seen returning after a break of some time. Disha Parmar will be seen again on TV after nearly three years when she completed her role in Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha, Pyara Pyara. She will be seen in the serial as the second wife and step mom, a role played by legendary Susan Sarandon.
