If social media has helped promote any one thing, it is tourism to distant, lesser known places. While local governments of popular tourist destinations across the world debate the ills or over tourism, there are places that desperately need more visitors to sustain the local economy. Welcome to Christmas movie story revolves around Madison and the town of Christmas. Madison works for a real estate developer and lands in Christmas in search for a location for her company’s new resort.
The town grappling with financial troubles, sees this as an opportunity to generate more jobs and support the local population. They welcome Madison with open arms and put their best foot forward.
However, that backfires as Madison falls in love with the small town culture and their loving, friendly ways. Not to forget Sheriff Gage. As she experiences the local hospitality the two fall in love. Enamored by the small town Madison decides that the resort will the local culture and cancels the resort development.
But by doing this she alienates the local people who are looking for a better economic future and also jeopardizes any hope of life with Gage. Madison must now think of a back up plan before she rules out Christmas as a resort destination.
