Trust TV Show on FX follows the infamous John Paul Getty III abduction of the 70s. This is the second major production on the sole heir of the richest man in the world within a year, after the movie All the Money in the World.

Inspired by actual events, Trust TV Show takes us behind the headlines into the trials and triumphs of one of America’s wealthiest and unhappiest families, the Gettys. John Paul Getty III, the grandson of Paul Getty Sr., son of Paul Getty Jr was the sole heir to the Getty oil empire and the richest catch in the world.
Equal parts family history, dynastic saga and an examination of the corrosive power of money, Trust explores the complexities at the heart of every family, rich or poor. John Paul Getty III was kidnapped in Rome by the Italian mafia. Their plan was simple, to get the ransom.
But trouble began when the grand dad Paul Getty Sr. was too busy to take calls, marooned in his Tudor home in England, surrounded by multiple mistresses and a pet lion. The kids father, living in a daze aimlessly in London ignorant of the desperate calls of his son.
The only person fighting to get back John Paul Getty II is his mother Gail, who is desperately trying to reason with the kidnapper, but has no access to the millions that they want.
