Anna Fox is an agoraphobic child psychologist who keeps tabs on the world outside from
the windows of her New York City brownstone. Her tenant, aspiring musician David Winter, lives in the basement, and does odd jobs around the house.
Anna passes the time drinking wine, watching classic film noirs and checking in on the goings on of the neighborhood from the safety of her window.
When a new family, the Russells, move in across the street, Anna befriends their 15-year-old son Ethan and the woman whom she believes to be the boy’s mother, Jane Russell, only to see her own life turned upside down when she witnesses a violent act and the woman disappears.
Anna suspects foul play, but both Ethan and his father, Alistair, deny any wrongdoing. Did Anna really witness a crime? Or was it all a figment of overactive imagination?
