The Purge TV Show Plot
The Purge TV show revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal. Set in an altered America ruled by a totalitarian political party, the series follows several seemingly unrelated characters living in a small city.
Jenna, an anti-Purger devoted to charitable causes who is accustomed to locking down on Purge Night. But this year, her decision to venture out for the first time during the Purge forces her to deal with deep truths about herself and her marriage.
Rick, after a lifetime of bootstrapping, is finally climbing the social ladder. He quickly discovers that rubbing shoulders with the pro-Purge elite presents unexpected challenges to his marriage, and he and his wife, Jenna, must agree on what moral price they’ll pay to achieve the American dream.
We also meet, Don Ryker, Managing Partner and boss at Jane’s investment firm. Handsome, confident and powerful, Don leads his team with alacrity and intelligence. While he appears to be a big Jane supporter, he may in fact be standing in the way of her career advancement.
Jenna is a dedicated and hardworking finance professional, Jane’s convinced that she’s hit an insurmountable glass ceiling at her firm, so she hires a Purge-assassin.
Meanwhile, Miguel, a US Marine with a hard edge and noble mission, receives a cryptic letter from his little sister. Miguel returns to town on Purge Night prepared to face the senseless violence in the streets alone in order to protect what he loves most – his family.
Penelope belongs to a Purge-worshipping cult. Having pledged herself to be sacrificed at the behest of their charismatic leader, Penelope’s faith is tested when she is exposed to the ghastly realities of the Purge.
Lila is a young, rich, and rebellious woman who refuses to fit in with the pro-Purge socialite crowd. Her confidence and charm mask a vulnerability that will be exposed as she attempts to deal with unfinished business before the sun rises.
Joe, an armored, masked, and seemingly ordinary man who drives through town intervening acts of Purge violence while listening to the taped lectures of a motivational life coach.
As the clock winds down, each character is forced to reckon with their past as they discover how far they will go to survive the night.

The Purge TV Show Review
The Purge is different kind of apocalyptic thriller. The bizarre rules of the purge night keep you interested and you are sucked into what kind of mayhem will people unleash on each other in this kind of world. With multiple parallel threads, you are ensured that the show keeps moving, never lingering too long on a single character. However, in spite of multiple stories, the series tends to get boring after a few episodes as it fails to build a crescendo and the tension is lost. Overall, the stories other than Miguel’s mission do not have to compel you to return to the show and the prospect of unimaginable is the only draw here, if you insist on watching something violent.
