The Letdown TV Show Plot
The pilot introduced us to Audrey and her group of oddball mothers as she tries to navigate the challenges. Dealing with sleeplessness, shifting relationship dynamics, her issues with her own mother and her husband’s career ambitions all seem to implode at the same time for Audrey.
They say it takes a tribe to raise a child, but these days obliging tribes are hard to come by – so perhaps this unlikely group of women (and one fella) is as good as it gets, as the show resumes.

The Letdown TV Show Episode Guide
Can’t wait to find out what’s happening in Audrey’s life? Take a peek inside with our The Letdown episode synopsis.
Episode 1
Audrey is determined not to be defined by motherhood. In theory, this seems fairly easy. In practice, her career-focused husband, self-obsessed mother & fancy-free best friend, make it damn near impossible.
Episode 2
Parents Group triggers anxiety in Audrey when she realises she’s the only one who isn’t following a parenting book. Misinterpreting Ambrose’s book club theme, Audrey brings Frankenstein – honest mistake or searing metaphor?
Episode 3
When Jeremy’s parents turn up uninvited to help, Audrey is forced to deploy some masterful restraint when it comes to mother-in-law, Carol’s intrusive and out-dated parenting advice.
Episode 4
Life at home with baby fails to provide the mental stimulation Audrey craves. She’s bored and increasingly forgetful. When she gets her days mixed up and turns up at a Narcotics Anonymous meeting instead of parents group, she stays. It gives her something to do and off she trots to have laksa with a bunch of junkies.
Episode 5
After being struck in the head by a pinecone, Jeremy starts to obsess about his broken promise to God. Is the pinecone the first in a series of vengeful acts? There’s no convincing atheist Audrey.
Episode 6
The annual spring cleaning trip to Audrey’s grandmother’s farm exposes some hard financial truths. Jeremy struggles to get Stevie to take the bottle and turns to the Parents’ Group for help.
Episode 7
Audrey misses the final Parents’ Group meeting but gets a surprising one-on-one with maternity nurse Ambrose. Georgia organises a nurse-in after being evicted from a cafe. Jeremy finally reveals his Californian job offer and he and Audrey face their past and their future.
